Celebrate Agriculture Night at the River Bandits
The Mercer County Farm Bureau along with Rock Island and Henry County Farm Bureaus sponsored a “Celebrate Ag Night” at the Quad Cities River Bandits Game on Friday, July 6th. The evening featured the first 1,000 fans receiving a Huston Astros World Series replica Championship ring sponsored by Illinois Farm Bureau. DeAnne Bloomberg, Rock Island County Farm Bureau Manager, was interviewed down on the field prior to the game and just before Illinois Farm Bureau members from each of the counties presented the flag for the National Anthem sung by Maddie Mueller. Nathan Parchert threw the first pitch and Nathan Flickinger suited up as Captain Cornelius! Special Ag related games were played between the innings and the video board featured Ag trivia. Illinois Farm Bureau t-shirts were thrown out to fans between innings. The evening also featured several radio and video commercials informing the game attendees where their food, fiber, and fuel come from. It was a great night had by all at the Modern Woodmen ball park with a Firework show after the game!
